SPALLETTI RISKS MORE IN JOINING INTER MILAN

Luciano Spalletti has had a respectable run at the coaching scene for the past 22 years.

There was a time he was one of the hottest coach in the world. His decision to move to Russia and take over Zenit St Petersburg undoubtedly dimmed his image in the eyes of club officials fighting tooth and nail to add a capable hand to the club.

Italian football since the decline of both Milan clubs appear to be taking up new shapes that portray that a new set of powerhouses are taking up the place of the once holy trinity the Milan clubs formed with Juventus. Roma and Napoli have been trying despite losing their best players to the bigger fishes of Europe and the one in Turin.

With Roma, Spalletti looked like he was on to something special alas he decided to pull the plug. Internazionale few days ago announced on their official social media account that the 58-year old was taking over the team and attempt doing what 10 coaches have failed to do in the past 7 years – return the Neazzurri to their former status. ARSENAL MAKE FA CUP FINAL

Arsenal have qualified for the FA Cup final after they saw off a challenge from Manchester City in the semi-final on Sunday.

It was a battle of tactics as Arsene Wenger got the better of his counterpart Pep Guardiola in the keenly contested encounter – his eight FA Cup final in 21 years.

Wenger still has a long way to go to appease the Arsenal fans as there is still the risk of not making Champions League next term. However, an FA Cup victory would do something to lubricate the friction.

On a similar note, it is more woes for Guardiola who enjoyed successes at Barcelona and Bayern Munich. His move to the Etihad came with much fanfare but he has failed to live up to expectations in his debut season. He started with ten straight victories in all competitions but he has faltered, lying in third place in the league, aside losses in the Champions League, EFL Cup, and now the FA Cup.

This is the first time the Spaniard would end a term without a trophy in his managerial career. They were the favourites ahead of the Arsenal clash, particularly with their opponent having a poor run. Arsenal were in their fighting gloves as they battled City at Wembley. COULD ARSENAL LOSE OUT IN THE TOP-FOUR RACE THIS YEAR?

For the longest of times, Arsenal have always made the top four in the Premier League – the club’s main source of consolation in the midst of a drought since 2004.

This season – of super managers and big money – poses a tougher challenge for the Emirates and there is a big chance that the Gunners would miss out of a Champions League spot.

Arsenal lost to Liverpool 3-1 over the weekend, but the result was the least surprising. The strategy the team used going against a side that have been impressive against the top six was seriously flawed. Arsenal were straight flat and brittle during the duel.

There is a decent chance that Arsenal might miss two of their biggest stars in Chilean Alexis Sanchez and Germany international Mesut Ozil. Why Arsene Wenger would play Sanchez from the bench is very surprising. Ozil was reported to be down with flu so his was expected. Arsenal’s dream of coming back against German champions Bayern Munich in the Champions League is as good as dead so there was no reason to rest Sanchez, considering that there was no reported fitness issue. WENGER BLAMES PLAYER FOR EVERTON LOSS

Arsenal’s manager Wenger has voiced his displeasure at his player’s lackluster performance at Everton on Tuesday night.

He blames his team’s poor performance for the loss that sees them lose grip on the Premier League title.

The Gunners who scored first all thanks to an impressive effort from Alexis Sanchez had their celebrations cut short when Sheamus Coleman scored with an incredible header to bring the teams level at half time.

Arsene Wenger claimed his team were tactically prepared to see off Everton but was disappointed in the end when his team conceded two goals, giving Chelsea an advantage in the title race. The manager said:

“In football, you have to defend well, we knew exactly what was happening, and the first goal is exactly what we planned not to do.

“We have to look at ourselves tonight because we punished ourselves by not respecting completely the rules that we put out the night before we played.” Continue reading “WENGER BLAMES PLAYER FOR EVERTON LOSS”

Kroenke wants to keep hold of Arsene Wenger

The 67 year old manager is a coach that has been able to keep Arsenal in the top 5 spots of the Premier League for the past years which is a very impressive thing to accomplish in every single season. Continue reading “Kroenke wants to keep hold of Arsene Wenger”

Arsene Wenger May Be Open to England Job, According to Rumours

Arsene Wenger has finally opened the doors towards a potential exit from the gunners after admitting that he is flattered to be linked with the England job.

Wenger has been at Arsenal for more than two decades, but there has been growing discontent from fans due to the lack of top honours. Two FA Cup trophies are the only successes that the team has achieved in the last decade. Even though the team has had a good start to the 2015-16 league campaign, Wenger is out of contract at the end of the campaign and there continues to be rumours about his future.

The sudden availability of the England job – following the departure of Sam Allardyce after just one game – has led to rumours that Wenger could be the next England boss. Incredibly, the Frenchman did not put an end to those rumours and stated that he would be willing to consider any options that come around. Wenger only confirmed that he would be staying at Arsenal till the end of the campaign. Arsenal managed to secure a 2-0 win over FC Basel in the second group match of the Champions League. They are now favourites to secure a place in the knockout stages in the next couple of matches.

ARSENAL TO BID HIGHER FOR ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE

Arsenal are reported to be keen on landing an experienced striker in Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, so they are believed would increase their bid for the forward after previous efforts didn’t succeed.

Arsene Wenger wants the strike force strengthened in light of injury to Danny Welbeck and the underperformance of Olivier Giroud in the past campaign.

Sky Sports report that Arsenal’s bid of £30 million was rejected by the French giant. The French Ligue 1 side is hoping the Gunners would do better for a striker that they badly need. Arsenal lost the signature of Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus. The former Napoli star forward made a record transfer signing in the move to the Italian champions, leaving Arsenal empty for the second time.

Arsenal are at a loss as they expected the bid to have been accepted, the president of Lyon Jean-Michel Aulas claims he doesn’t expect them to return with an improved bid for the player. The 25-year old Lacazatte has attracted a lot of interests, with West Ham even interested at some point before they backed down. Lacazette scored 48 goals in the league for the past two seasons, and also got an improved offer last year August that will tie him to the club for another four years. The president doesn’t want his star striker to leave when his opponents – Paris St. Germain and co – are improving their squads. The club has placed his release clause at £4 million, making it difficult for Arsenal to sign this summer.

Jamie Vardy rejects move to Arsenal and signs a new contract with Leicester City

Jamie Vardy has decided that he will not join Arsenal in the summer and has instead signed a 4-year contract with Leicester City.

Arsenal made a £22m bid last week for the player, but Vardy has decided to stay with Leicester.

This will be a major blow to Arsenal, who was looking for a new striker in order to boost their attack. Vardy was instrumental last season in helping Leicester City win the title, and Arsene Wenger was hoping that he could replicate the same form for Arsenal. The French manager has been under pressure since last season in order to mount a serious title push and this season he has started his transfer business early. He would have hope that having a quality striker like Jamie Vardy in the team will help him calm down the fans and boost the team attacking options. Granit Xhaka close to signing for Arsenal

There are media reports that Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka might be signing for Arsenal soon. The player is reported to be having a medical during the weekend and will subsequently sign a contract with the Gunners.

Granit Xhaka is currently playing for Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany and has established himself as a valuable player in their midfield. Although he is not reputed for being a quick player, Xhaka compensates his lack of pace with accurate passing, good positioning, and great tackling. He also has tremendous leadership skills that have helped him become Borussia Monchengladbach’s captain.

It was always a dream for Granit Xhaka to play in the Premier League. He was quoted once as saying that it was a childhood dream for him to play in England and at that time he did not know whether it would come true or not.

Arsenal is currently looking for midfielders since they are on numbers with the release of Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky, and MattieuFlamini. According to some pundits, Xhaka will definitely help to boost Arsenal midfield and will be an upgrade on their current players. With Wilshere, Cazorla and Ramsey always suffering from injuries, Xhaka will help bring some stability to the midfield. Continue reading “Granit Xhaka close to signing for Arsenal”

Arsenal place a number of tickets on general sales

Arsenal place a number of tickets on general sales for their game against West Bromwich Albion

Due to a large number of fans deciding not to attend the match at the Emirates, Arsenal has been forced to put some tickets on general sales. This is mostly tickets from season-ticket holders who have decided not to attend the game.

There has been growing frustration from the Arsenal fans in recent weeks with their team failing to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League. And this could become worst if Tottenham ends up winning the Premier League.

Arsenal were at the top of the Premier League in January and pundits agreed that they were the favorite to win the Premier League. Unfortunately, a poor run of form ever since has caused them to fall down the table and may even miss out on the fourth qualifying place for the Champions League.

This poor form has caused many fans to become frustrated with the current manager and asked for the board to replace him. However, there are former players such as Ray Parlour that have asked for the board to stick with the current manager and urged him to sign more quality players to help the team move forward.
