English Premier League club Arsenal may have signed a lot of players during the summer transfer window but they do not yet look like a side that can strongly compete for any title. The Gunners manager Mikel Arteta convinced the club’s board to splash a lot of cash this summer on as many as six new signings but they have not really improved from last season, with a lot of people blaming it on the fact that they have not yet gelled and still need to get to know each other before they can start playing as a team.
Although there js yet to be an official confirmation from the club, it is reported that Premier League side Arsenal are now more willing than ever to offload French striker Alexandre Lacazette and may likely do so if they receive a sizeable offer for him this summer. Lacazette has been a shadow of his true self in recent months and has failed to convince manager Mikel Arteta that he is still capable of leading the line for the club, meaning that his role at the club is at risk of being further limited ahead of the new season which is set to start next month.
Like Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has also been firing blanks for the London club in recent times and although the urge to sell Lacazette is not as strong as the one to sell the Gabonese star, he is also reportedly on the market and available to be sold if the club get any reasonable offer for him. The two strikers have already hit their thirties and are no longer seen as long-term options which gives Arteta a cogent reason to start investing in youth whether it means signing young players or developing and promoting their academy stars. Although it remains to be seen whether the transfer will eventually happen, several media outlets are currently reporting that Arsenal star Willian is interested in returning to Chelsea this summer after being fed up at the Emirates Stadium. Willian left Chelsea last summer and signed for their London rivals Arsenal and hoped to have a decent career at the club but it has not gone as planned and he is reportedly willing to swap red for blue this summer.
Before leaving Chelsea, Willian was offered a fresh one-year contract renewal because it is in line with the club’s policy to only give one-year renewals to players who are beyond the age of 30. However, he declined the offer and requested that the Blues offer him a contract deal of at least two years. With the two parties failing to reach an agreement, it was only logical that the Brazilian left the club and he ended up signing for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the process. According to multiple sources, Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is set to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season, with reports claiming that he is not willing to extend his contract with the Gunners. Bellerin is already a long-serving star for Arsenal and has been at the club for many years but it looks as though he finally wants a change and has been working toward that already.
Last season, he was linked to a number of clubs from across Europe, including clubs from the Italian Serie A, the French Ligue 1, the German Bundesliga, and even the Premier League. Manchester City are said to have shown interest in him, even though it was not really concrete, while AC Milan and Inter Milan are huge admirers and would pounce on a deal immediately. Arsenal boss has hailed the impact youngster Bukayo Saka is making on the team and has claimed that his young gun is becoming a better player with each game he plays in. The manager has credited his massive improvement to the hard work that he puts in on the training ground and behind the scenes personally.
The England international star was superb for his club once again against Southampton away at the Saint Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday night and was instrumental in his side’s comeback victory over the home side. He was thrown into the fray and started the game on the right side of the Arsenal attack and impressed his manager majestically. Continue reading “ARTETA SAYS SAKA IS BECOMING A MORE COMPLETE PLAYER”
The saga that currently surrounds Mesut Özil’s career at Arsenal has never gone unnoticed. The German playmaker’s tike at the club has been marred by notable fallouts first with former boss Unai Emery and the current manager Mike Arteta.
Premier League champs Manchester City are reportedly set to resubmit another bid for Caglar Soyuncu this summer. The defender has enjoyed a fine season with high flying Leicester City. He has formed a good partnership with Johnny Evans – another player linked with an Etihad switch.
Captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was in a scintillating form when Everton visited the Emirates stadium on Sunday. The Gabon International scored twice to help Arsenal to victory. Everton started the better side and they were ahead in the second minute when the impressive Dominic Calvert Lewin acrobatically converted Sigurdsson’s freekick, albeit David Luiz should have done better with the defending.
Arsenal had a home win against Nottingham Forest which resulted in a score of 5-0. They would now be playing for the Carabao Cup in Liverpool. Gunners would be facing MK Dons as well since the Reds were accused of putting in a player who was ineligible in the game they played at Milton Keynes. The match they played against Manchester United on 30th September 2019 resulted in a tie 1-1.
Unai Emery, the Arsenal boss, remained coy about Rob Holding and whether he would be starting the match played against Manchester United on Monday. Among other players, Sokratis and David Luiz are playing a partnership and are yet to convince the crowd that they are effective as a team. Many are awaiting Rob Holding’s return since he was injured. The 24-year-old comes back and his return has been long-awaited. Others who were injured and returned recently to the A team are Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney. Continue reading “Arsenal Gears up for Championship Season”
