AUBAMEYANG TO THE RESCUE IN 5-GOAL-THRILLER

Captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was in a scintillating form when Everton visited the Emirates stadium on Sunday. The Gabon International scored twice to help Arsenal to victory. Everton started the better side and they were ahead in the second minute when the impressive Dominic Calvert Lewin acrobatically converted Sigurdsson’s freekick, albeit David Luiz should have done better with the defending.

The Gunners kept their structure and composure, as the away side kept threatening and they nearly added the second goal when former player Iwobi, was put on goal only to direct his effort way over the bar.

Mkhitaryan Happy To Play With Ozil

Arsenal playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan says it is a pleasure to play alongside teammate MesutOzil. He believes that they can combine to devastating effect for their opponents. Both of them were instrumental to the 2-0 defeat of AC Milan in the first leg of the Round of 16 in the Europa League.

Following recent woes including back to back losses to Manchester City in the EFL Cup final and Premier League, there were renewed attacks on Coach Arsene Wenger and the team as a whole. The Gunners were even predicted to lose to a Milan side on the rise but the Premier League side humbled their hosts at the San Siro. OZIL STAYING PUT AT ARSENAL

Reports in England claim Mesut Ozil has decided to stay put at the Emirates Stadium. The German is expected to agree a £275,000 a week deal before the end of the season even as Manchester United and Barcelona remain interested. The 29-year old has been the subject of a long drawn contract issue but he is expected to agree fresh terms that will keep him at the club for many more years.

The player can sign pre-contract with foreign clubs from January or talk with other interested local sides but bookies bet 1/5 that he would stay put. The Catalan side can escape a hefty transfer fee if they agree terms with the player in January. They would only have to pay Ozil sign-on fees to get him.
